Director of The Special Needs Program & Coach

Crystal has been a Liberty coach for 11 seasons and is the Co-Founder of our cheer program for People of Determination. She began coaching with Special Olympics 14 years ago and currently serves as their Texas State Cheer Sport Director and Games Manager.

I am passionate about inclusion for all kinds of athletes. I'm passionate about this sport. I believe cheerleading offers a unique opportunity for everyone to be a superstar while also learning to work as a team, and filling lives with joy, a sense of achievement, and self-confidence.
In 2015, Crystal joined SO Cheer, the organization responsible for getting Cheerleading recognized as a sport in Special Olympics. She took our Justice team to game cheer at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. That was the first time cheerleaders were involved in the World Games. In 2018, she brought cheerleading to Special Olympics of Texas, becoming the Cheer Sport Director, the first certified coach, and making Justice the first official Special Olympics Cheer team in Texas just in time for them to compete in Chicago at the S.O. 50th Anniversary in the first S.O. Nationals Cheer Competition. Just this year, she traveled with one Justice cheerleader to the 2019 S.O. World Games in Abu Dhabi. Crystal served as head coach for the US National Female Team, the International Male Team, and all teams from 5 different countries for game cheering. That was the first time a cheer competition was held at the World Games.

I look forward to further growing athletes at Liberty, incorporating Special Olympics into our program, and growing the S.O. cheer program in our community and in Texas, the USA, and Internationally.
